About Danelectro

Danelectro is an American musical instrument brand, founded in 1947 by Nathan Daniel, known for its innovative, affordable guitars, bass guitars, and effects units featuring unique designs like lipstick-tube pickups and Masonite/plywood construction. Originally producing amps for department stores, the company later produced its own branded guitars and became a popular choice for introducing new players to the instrument. After being sold in 1968, the company closed its factory but was later revived in 1997, with the brand continuing to release new pedals and guitars.
