Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH & Co. KG is a German manufacturer of musical instruments, founded in 1857 by Matthias Hohner (1833–1902). The roots of the Hohner firm are in Trossingen, Baden-Württemberg. Since its foundation, and though known for its harmonicas, Hohner has manufactured a wide range of instruments, such as kazoos, accordions, recorder flutes, melodicas, banjos, electric, acoustic, resonator and classical guitars, basses, mandolins and ukuleles (under the brand name Lanikai) From the 1940s through 1990s, the company also manufactured various electric/electronic keyboards. Especially in the 1960s and 1990s, they manufactured a range of innovative and popular electromechanical keyboard instruments; the cembalet, pianet, basset, guitaret, and clavinet. In the 1980s, several Casio synths were sold under the Hohner brand - for example, the Casio HT-3000/Hohner KS61midi and the VZ-1/HS-2). Nowadays, Hohner produces harmonicas, melodicas, accordions and recorder flutes.

THE SOUND OF INNOVATION
The Minor Pentatonic scale is one of the most useful in popular music. Play any of these notes in the right key and you can’t go wrong. By adding the “Blue Note” the player can add extra expression and versatility, this is known as the “Blues Scale”. Guitarists refer to this scale as “Playing in the Box”, and it is the one of the first scales to learn when playing a solo. However, to play this scale accurately on a standard harmonica demands advanced techniques that could take years to master! That’s where the PentaHarp comes in.

THE WORLD’S MOST COPIED HARMONICA DESIGN
A unique, beautifully mellow sound, based on a revolutionary concept: the Special 20 was the first diatonic harmonica in the world with reed plates recessed into the comb, creating a projecting plastic mouthpiece. This makes it more comfortable to play, and the most copied harmonica design worldwide. Its distinctive sound is perfect for everything from Folk and Country to Rock and Pop. The Special 20 offers everything a professional harpist needs, but it’s also the ideal beginner’s instrument thanks to its smooth playability and comparatively affordable price. If you’re not just looking for a companion for the first few steps, but one to take you all the way, the Special 20 is your best possible bet.Hohner – Marine Band 1896 – Db
