Gretsch is an American company that manufactures musical instruments. The company was founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York by Friedrich Gretsch, a 27-year-old German immigrant, shortly after his arrival to the United States. Friedrich Gretsch manufactured banjos, tambourines, and drums until his death in 1895. In 1916, his son, Fred Gretsch Sr. moved operations to a larger facility where Gretsch went on to become a prominent manufacturer of American musical instruments. In 2002, Gretsch entered a business agreement with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC). Under the terms of that agreement Fred W. Gretsch would retain ownership while FMIC would handle most of the development, distribution and sales. Through the years, Gretsch has manufactured a wide range of instruments, though they currently focus on electric, acoustic and resonator guitars, basses, ukuleles, and drums.

CHAMBERED MAHOGANY BODY WITH BOUND CARVED MAPLE TOP, SCULPTED FOREARM & BODY CONTOURS & ROUNDED HEEL
At the heart of each Electromatic Jet is a mahogany body with max core chambering and a carved maple top. Designed for exceptional acoustic balance, this precise combination delivers strong attack with a rich, present mid-range, big lows and shimmering musical highs. A smooth rounded heel allows for unimpeded access to the highest frets, while subtle comfort contours on the body create a balanced ergonomic fit for effortless playability and enhanced comfort.
MAHOGANY NECK WITH PERFORMANCE “C” NECK PROFILE & BOUND ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD
We’ve crafted a balanced, rounded “C” profile with tapered shoulders that is comfortable for all players with just enough mass to ensure precise playability in all positions. Mahogany construction lays a perfect foundation for bold and powerful tone. When it comes to tone and playability, there’s almost nothing more important than an instrument’s fingerboard. Electromatic Jets feature a genuine rosewood fingerboard with 1-ply aged white binding that generates both smooth, silky feel and warm, woody tone.
GRAPHTECH NUBONE NUT FOR SUPERIOR TUNING STABILITY
A GraphTech NuBone nut delivers consistent and balanced tone, enhanced resonance and sustain, and superior playability. Optimized break angle and string-pull to the tuning keys solves the problem of strings sticking or slipping. These features create rock-solid stable tuning that will power your longest and most aggressive performances without missing a beat.
PUREVOLT™ TWIN SIX™ HUMBUCKERS
PureVolt™ Twin Six™ humbuckers are beautifully dynamic, exceptionally expressive and addictively powerful. Each pickup features twelve adjustable pole pieces for precise attack and unrestrained flexibility. In the neck position Alnico IV magnets are paired with plain enamel wire, while in the bridge Alnico V magnets pair with plain enamel coated wire. Specially calibrated coil winds create incredible balance and raw humbucker power with amazing clarity and versatility, while vacuum wax-potting keeps noise and interference to a minimum.
LOCKDOWN™ LOCKING ADJUSTABLE WRAPAROUND BRIDGE
Simplicity and functionality come together in the form of our Lockdown™ locking adjustable wraparound tailpiece. A bridge and tailpiece all in one unit, the wraparound tailpiece provides enhanced sustain and note attack, with adjustable saddles for pinpoint intonation. For maximum coupling, rock-solid tuning stability and trouble-free string changes, the bridge posts lock the bridge down tight. This ensures optimal operation and superior transfer of string energy for bigger, fuller tone with more percussive attack and longer sustain
ADVANCED ELECTRONICS
The Electromatic Jet is equipped with a control circuit designed to give you complete tonal control. A master volume with treble bleed circuit provides precise adjustment while maintaining clarity at any volume. Individual pickup tone controls provide intuitive control, calibrated for stellar tone at every setting. Push/Pull tone controls unlock snappy and glassy true single-coil timbres for each pickup, and better yet each single coil combines for a hum-cancelling pair in the middle position.
