About Arturia Arturia is a French electronics company founded in 1999 and based in Grenoble, France. It designs and manufactures electronic musical instruments, including software synthesizers, drum machines, analog synthesizers, MIDI controllers, sequencers, and mobile apps. Arturia was founded in 1999 in Grenoble by INPG engineers Frédéric Brun and Gilles Pommereuil to create affordable software synthesizers. The first product they developed was Storm, a virtual instrument workstation. The close emulation of classic analog synthesizers helped the company gain popularity in its market. In order to create sounds with minimal digital artifacts, Brun and Pommereuil developed new software algorithms to eliminate these issues.

Polyphony

AstroLab optimizes Polyphony for each instrument to ensure the best reliability and performance:

Pianos, EPs and organs have 48 voices
Most synths have 8 voices

Buchla Easel V, Synthi V, KORG MS-20 V are monophonic

Pigments and Augmented instruments’s polyphony may vary depending on engine and effect usage.

Preset compatibility

All instruments from V Collection 9(*) are currently supported, plus Pigments.

*Mellotron V is not supported. However, Mellotron presets are available as presets of AstroLab's Sampler instrument.

Compatibility for V Collection X (Acid V, MiniFreak V, CP-70 V, Augmented Brass, Augmented Woodwinds) instruments will be added in an upcoming update in the summer of 2024.

Our goal is to bring and maintain compatibility to all Analog Lab presets over time.

Future compatibility

We are committed to the ongoing support of AstroLab, and the continuous development of its features, performance and compatibility with our latest software instruments.

The compatibility of new instruments takes time to develop. Therefore, they may not always be available for use on AstroLab upon release.

As a standalone, AstroLab is a highly versatile and complete instrument and will continue to deliver exceptional sound for years to come, without needing to be updated. However, we will endeavor to release key updates in the future to make it even more capable and powerful.
